Chicago DSA Endorses Ambria Taylor and Warren Williams

The Chicago chapter of The Democratic Socialists of America has endorsed Ambria Taylor and Warren Williams in their candidacies for City Council.

As a democratic, volunteer-led organization, major political decisions like endorsements are decided upon by membership. This endorsement was the outcome of a chapterwide vote in which a quorum of membership voted to endorse both candidates.

Ambria Taylor is a candidate for alderman of the 11th Ward. Taylor is a working class candidate who has lived in Bridgeport since 2012. If elected, she would replace Alder. Lee, a Lightfoot appointee who worked as a consultant for oil company BP America.

Warren Williams is a candidate for alderman of the 30th Ward. Williams is a lifelong Chicagoan — the working class son of a pastor and a union postal worker — and an experienced community organizer in the 30th Ward. He is running to replace Alder. Reboyras who is among the exodus of Alders not seeking reelection.

This brings the total number of 2023 aldermanic candidates endorsed by CDSA to 11. Supporters of working class politics who align with CDSA’s vision of a Chicago for all are encouraged to make a donation to CDSA PAC which will divide its funds between the campaigns of all 11 endorsed candidates.
